Hey Crafters!

So today's tool is brought to you by Tim Holtz & works in conjunction with a tool I featured last week called - the Eclips.

The tool is called STAMP 2 CUT & it cuts out your stamped Tim Holtz shapes & images. There is a little more to it so you should check out the video below where Tim takes us through the product step by step:

It is going to be released at the Winter CHA Show this month.

Since it is so new I have no idea about the price point or availability but I just wanted to put it on the radar.

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#128) Reinvent your office supplies!

Hey crafters!
Ever see an office supply that you have on hand or think you need but don't ever really do anything with or about because it is drab.
For instance, a ROLODEX.
It's a functional office supply but with all things going digital or getting computerized you may not have any use for it. You may think it too bulky or an eye sore on your work surface.You know the kind...they look like this:

But...you can turn it into something like this:

Just because something is functional doesn't mean it can't have flair. The altered rolodex above was actually done by a fellow crafter, Hoolie & I saw it on the Craftster.org forum. I admit I have been wanting to make one of my own for quite some time but just haven't gotten around to it.

Seeing hers makes me want to make one even more. It is just so cute.

Here are a few ideas what to use it for:

1-To catalog your ink inventory (ranger ink pads, memento, colorbox, etc...)

2- As a holder for sample swatches of paints & fabrics

3-Monthly reminder of special occasions such as birthdays & anniversaries

4-As a prayer a day or bible verse a day keeper

5-As an BLOG buddy keeper where you can jot down information about blogs you follow, participate in design teams with, order products from or exchange raks with, etc...

I am sure you can come up with many other ideas on how to use them.

If you have a rolodex that just isn't getting any use, I hope you see it in a different light.

But, if I know you, my crafty friends-you've already thought of something!

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#127) Die Cutter Cleaning?

Say what?

I know...sounds odd but I wanted to share a little tip about how I clean my die cutting machine.

By cleaning, I mean mostly removing dust, lint, paper pulp, residue & debris that may get stuck in my die cutting machine, computer & other crafty tools.

On the surface, I use a damp microfiber cloth. Those look like this:

In the crevices, I use compressed air. You know, the cans of air used to remove dust & lint off of keyboards & computers. It works well for your die cutting machines too. In fact, you can use it on any of your machines that may collect dust & lint or where paper pulp & pieces may get trapped.

In case you're wondering, they look like this:

You can find them in stores like Wal-mart, Target, Office Max, Staples, Big Lots & more.

Hope you give this a try if you find you are having trouble with dust, lint, paper residue on your tools or work surfaces.

Since this week has been about distressing, I thought I would share the Tim Holtz latest, DISTRESS MARKERS!

They are the perfect choice for doodling, journaling, coloring, stamping, shading and more. They were set to be released for sale after the Winter CHA Show so they should start hitting local scrapbooking stores & online retailers soon if they are not out already.

At the time of this post, I was not able to find the cost per marker or the set but just keep an eye for them if you want them.

A Saturday Special

Today I am sharing my Saturday Special which is a set of 4 tile coasters.

You can find it at Joann Fabrics Stores & it costs $19.99 for 12 sheets of 12"x12" paper. It is acid free & lignen free as well. Great to use in conjunction with your photo projects. I imagine you can use it in your electronic die cutting machines but I have not tried it yet.

Another "B" Stand - Just what you need for all your bits!

I found the top plate portion of the stand at an old barn that was converted into an antique co-op. The bottom was a clear candle base I spray painted & epoxy'd to the plate to create the stand.

I really like the vintage feel of it and how it lends itself to so many uses.
It would look good on a end table as a candy dish or great in your craft room holding some vintage buttons.

I look forward to making more & sharing them with you.

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#125) Hang Ten...

Or more...ribbon rolls- that is.

Ever want to just have a place for your most loved spools of ribbon to be close at hand?

Ever want to fit more than just a few rolls?

Ever want to just have simple access to your ribbon rolls-easy on/easy off ?

I think this tip may be for you!

Here it is...try a multi-trouser hanger. They are the kind with the swing out arms or open arms. They look like this specifically:

With multiple arms, you can thread anywhere from 6-10 ribbon spools per arm depending on the size & thickness of the roll, of course.

Imagine being able to have your most beloved ribbons available at a quick glance, ready for grab & go craft time.

You can then hang this easily somewhere in your crafty space or even in your closet. It has a slim profile & won't take up too much space.

It would be portable too. You can take it from your closet or craft room to the table easily. You could hang it on a handle, door knob or even one of those purse hooks right off your work surface. Then when done, you can easily put it back up in your closet for storage.

Here's to hoping this is news you can use!

Another Crafty Creation

I scoured some flea markets, antique shops, boutiques and was able to find some of the cutest jars, mini plates & other fine pieces that inspired me to come up with what I am calling...

THE "B" STAND!

Without further ado:

I actually have a few different kinds of these stands. The B is for Baubles, Buttons & Bling. I thought it would be great to make unique stands that could hold small groupings of things you love. Anything from flowers to earrings to bangles & treats. I was hoping that the "B" would cover it all.

These would work wonderfully in any craft room, a side table, a night stand or even your bathroom counter filled with cotton balls.

TOOL TIME TUESDAY- XYRON STICKER MAKER

Today's tool is brought to you by: Xyron & it is the all new Teresa Collins Sticker Maker.

It looks like this:

Isn't it the cutest?

This portable, lightweight adhesive machine makes stickers out of anything you run through it. It is fantastic for ribbon, small embellishments & can accommodate anything up to the thickness of a nickel. It applies edge to edge adhesive completely & flawlessly. You simply insert your item in the opening & pull through the bottom. You tear off the strip with the adhered item then burnish over the entire surface before releasing the cover sheet & lifting off your item.

This particular one by Teresa Collins (who has partnered with Xyron) is going to be released for sale during Winter CHA Show 2012 & after.

I have a regular one & it works wonderfully. I really love my Xyron products.

I was not able to find the cost of this one but the regular models usually run anywhere from $8.99-$10.99. If you purchase them at the crafty stores like Michael's or A.C. Moore you can use your 40% or 50% off coupon when the item is not already on sale. They sell the adhesive refills as well.

It would definitely be a great investment. After all, we could always use good adhesive.

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#124) Got Dilemmas Mailing Bulky Cards?

Have I got a quick tip for you!

Use CD or DVD mailing boxes depending on the height & width of your card. Just wrap your card in a lovely coordinating tissue paper, put a bow on it or tie a ribbon on it & slide it into the CD or DVD mailing box and it is ready to go.

Another option would be to use bubble mailers. Since they already have the bubble wrap lining in the envelope you would only need to place the card gently into the envelope.

Don't forget to mark it FRAGILE.

TOOL TIME TUESDAY-The Color Cutter by Painters

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today's tool is brought to you by Painters distributed by Elmer's Products (Elmer's Glue Fame) & it is called the COLOR CUTTER.

It looks like this:

This handy tool is a marker & cutter all in one! Yes, you read that right...it cuts & outlines at the same time.

It allows you to create a border as you cut. You should use it with a cutting mat of course because it does contain a blade.

It is great for making photo mats, borders and can be used in many other paper crafting applications.

Below is a HSN video demo. It was the only one I could find that really showed off the color cutters. I do not know if HSN is still carrying these but I do know that I found them at my local dollar store. So next time you are out & about at your local dollar store keep an eye out for these.

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#123) Goodness gracious, great balls of what?

Balls of styrofoam !

Hi Bloggers! Bet that title got you thinking.

Just thought you might be interested in learning how to make your own version of Flower Soft.

You know...that pretty little stuff that adds dimension to your projects. It looks like this:

You can make your own version of the stuff by simply taking mini styrofoam balls & rubbing them together over a large bowl making sure they are completely broken down in their smallest form.

If you want to color your styrofoam use a water based or latex paint. NO solvent paint.

Also, to glue your homemade flower soft you want to be certain you have a styrofoam glue.

This is one of those items that is more cost effective to make. 2 small balls can render a lot for a little money. I do believe you can find styrofoam balls @ the dollar store. One pot of flower soft can cost $8.

It is a neat concept & looks lovely on any project.

Now you can try it for less.

Check this thing out!

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#122) Crispy or Regular?

Hello Blog Buddies!

Thanks for stopping in.

Today's tip is all about your stamps.

Do you ever find that your stamps just aren't stamping crisp, clear or deep impressions?

Do you ever find that your stamps don't give off that finished look even when you use fresh new inks?

Do you ever find that you have to press often & deeply to etch your image on to your crafty surface?

If so, maybe your stamps need a little lift! I guess a regular image is okay but why settle for that when you can get a crisp image instead?

It is possible that your stamps have become dull & the rubber or acrylic affected by temperature changes.

To help keep them detailed & fresh do the following:

1-First clean the stamp well & let it dry.

2-USE an eraser over the surface of the stamp. Rub the eraser over the entire impression.

This is the kind of eraser you should use:

3-Use a dry, unused paint brush to remove all the erased debris.

4-Re-clean your stamp & let air dry.

5-Then stand back & watch your stamp liven up to perform just a bit better than it had before.

Isn't it awesome? You can use it to store your ink refills, pads, alcohol inks, pearl mists & so much more. It has so much room that you can use this one to store some tools as well as adhesives & other specialty craft items.

If you wanted to store all your exclusive Tim Holtz product you could do that too! You would know where to find them because like his products, this case just screams Tim!

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#121) SILICONE GOODNESS

Hello & welcome to this year's 1st crafting tip!

For this week's tip I simply wanted to let you know that if you are working with baking clay- you may want to invest in the silicone trays @ your local dollar store. They work really well for clay baking and are only a dollar!

You know the ones...they look like this:

In my research, I came across some options at the dollar store. Themed molds seem to sell during holidays like Halloween, Christmas, Valentines, etc... They seasonally carry pumpkin, Christmas tree & heart shaped silicone molds . You may get lucky & find other shaped molds for $1 and it would be a great investment. Especially if you create your own jewelry pieces and/or embellishments with baking clay like Sculpey.

Once you use it for crafting though you shouldn't use it for anything else.

Also, use a little PAM spray on the mold before placing your baking clay inside. It helps your piece release easier.

Isn't it just the cutest?

Don't let its' little size fool ya. It is great for use with our fabric crafts, ribbon & other crafty adventures. Like with all other irons you should be careful what you use it on. Turn fabric painted, studded or glittered items inside out or on the flip side to make sure the heat from the iron doesn't undo all the pretties on your item. You can also place a lightweight cotton dish towel or old t-shirt over your item prior to pressing with the iron to give it an extra layer of protection.

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#120) GAME TIME

Well for us crafty chicas & chicos isn't it always?

For today's tip I wanted to share that you should save any stray game pieces you find & use them in your crafting.

Game pieces are so fun, whimsical & interactive. I know most of you have seen crafters who have taken Scrabble letters to spell out their blog names & creative things of that nature. It sure looks great!

Well, why not do that & more with other game pieces like the ones from playing cards, Life, Monopoly...I mean who doesn't love that car or the thimble? How about Dominoes or bingo chips. We have definitely seen the bingo numbers replicated & sold as a crafty embellishment and it works.

So next time you are out in yard sales, antique shops, second hand stores or just cleaning up your little ones' messes. If you find stray game pieces-KEEP THEM.

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#119) SPOOLS OF THREAD

Hi Bloggers!

The tip for today is to save your spools of thread. Spools make interesting additions to your crafty projects.

A few things you can do with them:

1-Wrap twine, jute, ribbon or other trim around it that coordinates with the project for which it is being used & tuck a stick pin or mini pennant flag through the spool and adhere it to your project.

2-Wrap some pretty patterned paper ribbons to the spool & adhere an embellishment on top. So the spool ends up serving as a table of sorts to display a mini object of importance.

3-Paint the spool with your acrylic paint and use it as a scroll by adhering a secret message or journaling on the scroll, then rolling it around the spool. Make sure to add a little tab to say pull here so the person enjoying the 3-d embellishment can roll out the scrolled paper to read/reveal its' message.

Spools make great additions to shadow boxes, canvases, covers for mini albums or layouts that you display openly. I am sure you crafty bloggers can come up with more ideas. These were just a few to get your juices flowing.

So remember... don't throw away those spools of thread. They can & will come in handy in due time.

Hello Crafty Friends!

Ever get tired of pulling out your Cricut tools out of their case to use them?

The ones that look like this:

If you use your cricut tools often and want to have quick easy access to your tools then set them free from their case.

Now before you think I am saying get rid of the case, think again. Hold on to it so you can take your tools on the go. But...while at home, why not take your tools & fasten them with velcro on to your cricut machine?

Use some hook & loop/velcro tape & simply adhere them to a place on your cricut machine where they won't be in the way, like the left or right side. It would definitely make it easy to always know where to find that spatula or picking tool to lift off those cricut cuts in a hurry.

A Paper Flower from Me to You

It measures 3 1/2" & I used graduated sizes of cardstock. I inked the edges with Tim Holtz-Fired Brick Distress Ink & used some of my corner punches to punch the squares of cardstock prior to folding & assembling the flower.

I will be making more of these. Just thought I would share the one since I liked it so much. It looks so much better in person.

Hi Bloggers~ How about ideas for using twine?

Here are a few for incorporating them into your project:

1-Make twine flowers by placing glue on a circle cutout & adhering twine from the center of the circle wrapping around. Keep going outward til it's as large as you want it or covering your punched circle. All done.

2-Wrap the twine around other embellishments like chipboard pieces, grunge paper & coils.

3- Use it as an accent to border mats, photos or border strips.

I am sure you savvy crafters can think up more ways to put this fun element to use.

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#116)Stamp Solutions

Whether it's clear acrylic, rubber unmounted or wood stamps we could all benefit from a good tip here & there about stamp storage, cataloging & labeling.

Today I just wanted to share something in reference to identifying your stamps.

If you do the binder reference system or CD case system, it is inevitable that you will want to see an image of all the stamps to a collection at a glance. So, this tip is for you.

If you don't want to worry about inking up all the stamps in each collection to create a cover demo sheet for your binder, this is for you.

If you lost your demo sheet, it became torn or worn or if in your excitement in opening your stamp packaging you discarded the demo sheet, this tip is for you.

***Simply look up the stamp set online, there will usually be a photo which includes all the images to any & all sets. In addition, there is always identifying information as well. This way you will be able to capture not only the image but the manufacturer/brand and name of the stamp line.
Copy & paste the information along with the photo in a word document & print it out on white cardstock. OR if you can capture it all when you find what you are looking for simply print it right off your printer.***

The ability to create a demo catalog for your stamps using your computer system is so beneficial.
Here are some uses for printing out demo sheets of your stamps:

By printing them off on cardstock in multiples you can use them as duplicates. You can test out techniques with the duplicates, figure out placement without worrying about smudging ink, you can try out different color schemes to see which you would like best for a project.
You can cut them out.
Punch them out.
Use watercolor pencils or Copic markers.
You can layer the image easily

You can treat the image just as if you stamped it.

Tissue paper for gift wrapping that is... It's not just for stuffing gift bags anymore. Or was it ever only just for that?

You can totally use it in your paper crafting adventures.
It's light weight makes it a delicate but lovely accent to add to anything you would want to create. From flowers to mini accordion fans.
You can also Mod Podge it to some shaped chipboard, add some embellishments & presto you have a customized wall hanging. You can stamp these & mist them as well, which gives you yet another way to customize it even further.

Although, there are gift wrapping tissue papers that already come printed with cool designs - so if you are feeling like you want to simplify you can always buy a pre-decorated stash.

It's all up to you!

Most dollar stores carry gift wrapping tissue paper and just one package would give you a lot of crafty mileage. It's worth at least investing in white since it is easily alterable.

Or more to the point, something designed for your oven.A NON-Stick OVEN LINER that is. Or you can also get a non-stick SILICONE BAKING SHEET.

Hey Crafty Friends!

Did you know that you could use a non-stick OVEN LINER OR SILICONE BAKING SHEET as a misting/crafting mat?

Their properties are conducive to crafting.

They are heat resistant up to 500 degrees allowing for usage with our heat & glue guns.

They clean off well and cover a good size surface area so you can paint, ink, stamp, mist & heat emboss til' your heart's content. The oven liners are usually larger so they give you more coverage.

The price point for the oven liners are far better than the one for crafting mats. The silicone baking sheets can be a little pricier depending on where you purchase them.

You can find oven liners & silicone baking sheets in a variety of places like Wal-mart, Target, Big Lots, K-Mart & online retailers. You can find the Betty Crocker version HERE.

If you find you need a craft sheet & don't want to spend a lot of money the non-stick oven liner or silicone baking sheet would be a great choice.

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#114) Cupcakes in the Craft Room?

Hey Bloggers!

For today's tip I thought I would share a way to get the look of rosettes without all the folding, scoring or use of a die cut.
YOU INTERESTED?

Just take some of these:

Fold them in half & cut a semi circle from the center, unfold, gather in the center & adhere. That's all.
You can also just flatten out the liner & gather it up in the center all the while using adhesive to keep it in place but I found that cutting out the center works better and you don't lose the pleats.
You can also use a circle punch for the center inserting only half way, thus cutting a semi circle.

With all the different types of cupcake liners out there you are sure to find one for every occasion making this a versatile alternative to die cutting, scoring & folding.

Today's tip is a quick one. Ever want to take your cards, layouts or home decor to the next level?
How about using small tassels?

They don't have to be just for curtains anymore!
You can use them on bookmarks, tags, mini albums & more. You can easily thread them through binding o-wire or tie them on just about anything. They always add a little flare to curtains so I thought, why not in our other papercrafting & home decor projects.

The COLOR CARRIER is a nifty device which will hold up to 7 ink pads. It is great for storing your ink pads but also allows you to tow them from place to place quite easily as well.

While the Clear Snap folks do state it's for use with their Color Box inks I do believe you may be able to squeeze in other inkpads as well.

So glad you are here.
Today's tip is an idea geared toward your acrylic & rubber stamps. Do you ever find yourself working on a project using several stamps at a time? Do you ever want to just keep them off of your craft table but have them where you can see them & grab them quickly?
Have I got a tip for you.
It's this: use a dry erase board to temporarily store them.

Dry erase boards come in all shapes & sizes so even if you have a very small space to craft in you will still have a place to put your stamps. With dry erase boards you have the luxury of hanging the board or laying it down on your work surface as you craft. There are even some that are magnetic too. Double duty would allow you to also store some of your metal embellishments on it as well.

It is great to have the ability to see what you have & use it. It's also great when you are working on large scale projects that require your stamps be out for a while, to have a temporary holding place.
I don't have to tell you that a dry erase board would be good for so much more in your craft space. From sketches, to notes, to measurements & more.

I got warmed up by making a quick page using the My Memories Digital Scrapbooking Software.

I was able to customize the page with the photo & text you see just with a touch of a few key strokes. I also changed the color photo to a sepia toned & tried another feature to size the photo to fit in the circle and make it seem like you were looking into a ship's porthole window. I enjoyed the ability to customize. I did all that on my first try!

Once I finished that I decided to try another quick page but this time I printed it out on photo paper, adhered it to chocolate cardstock, used a corner rounder, inked up the edges on both the photo & the cardstock. I then used a little Tim Holtz crackle paint in rock candy, let it dry. Then mounted the digital printout onto a mouse pad base & laminated it together. After, I adhered a pom,pom ribbon around the outside edge. That ribbon edging actually helps the mouse to stay on the pad by creating a mini barrier. Remember to use strong adhesive that will work on laminated surfaces if you try this.

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#111) Another Ribbon Storage Idea

Welcome Crafters!
So glad you stopped in for a visit.
Today's tip is just me sharing with you a different way to store ribbon that you really love, right @ your fingertips in a unique way.

Ever see those bracelet display stands? They actually carry them at Michael's. And yes, they are for storing or displaying bracelets but I though why not use them to store your favorite ribbons that you want to keep within arms reach for your crafting.
They look like this:

I can imagine rolling the ribbon around it to fit then using pretty decorative stick pins or push pins to hold the ribbons in place. Of course, since the surface of the display can handle stick pins, push pins & other pokey things you may be able to use it to store those as well.
I am sure they would look really pretty. Also, the bracelet stand would not take up too much surface space on your crafting table.

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#110) Inking Tool & FELT

Hello Fellow Bloggers!

If you ever find yourself needing to replace your felt squares for your Tim Holtz inking tool, just purchase a sheet of felt.

Michael's, Joann's & A.C. Moore all sell them individually & in packs. The singles usually run for approximately anywhere from .25 cents-.39 cents a sheet. The non adhesive backed felt will grab on to the existing velcro on the Tim Holtz inking tool just fine. Adhesive backed felt is available for purchase as well but not required when replacing your existing felt pads for the inking tool.

You can cut up the sheet which is usually an 8 1/2x 11 or 9x12 size sheet and get a lot of felt replacement pads out of one sheet. By the way, you can also find rolls of it at the fabric stores. So it is widely available, inexpensive & you get a lot for a little money.
It comes in a variety of colors but white would be the best choice so you can always see the ink colors & where you apply it.

It's an autumnal paper cone.

I think I will make a batch of these to give to our Thanksgiving guests @ the dinner table. I will fill them with something delectable.

There is so much dimension to this little gem. I had a fun time putting it together. My paper was from a Target Fall paper pack that I purchased last year. It was not double sided so I just adhered 2 pieces that I liked together & made it 2 sided. I used pearls, floral sprays & purple beads, bling, the MS butterfly punch for the butterflies & some monochromatic twine I had in my stash for the top rim of the cone. I had that ribbon in my stash & used 2 purple flower shaped eyelets. I adore how this came out. It looks ever so much nicer in person.

With Halloween soon upon us I have spent a little time making some goodies.
Here's a little Halloween Goody Pouch I made using the DCWV-Midnight Spell Cardstock:

I kept the decorating simple. But if you were having an adult Halloween party & wanted to snazz these up with bling, crystals & ribbon I am sure it would work for grown ups just as well as for the kids. I used sweet treats but you can easily insert a gift card, a lottery ticket or movie stub.

Today's tip is a quick tip.
Want to add color to your silver or white brads, staples, eyelets &/or other metallic embellishments?

Try using Alcohol Inks. This includes Copic Markers! Just heat set with your heat tool after coloring, making sure not to touch them because metal embellishments get hot.
You can also just let them dry overnight.

A PAPER PUMPKIN

Hello Crafty Friends!

Just wanted to share this adorable little paper pumpkin I made.

It will be part of a place setting ensemble I will be making to use as home decor.
I used cardstock from the DCWV's-Midnight Spell Line then I used Bazzill swiss dot black cardstock for the topper, a flower, a brad, bling & some leaves. It came together rather quickly. Double sided paper will work beautifully because as you can tell by the photo you will be able to see the inside a bit. Wish I would have grabbed double sided but...oh well.

In case you want to make your own you only need to cut 7 strips of 4 1/4"x 1 1/2" strips of cardstock. Make a hole in the bottom center of all the strips, thread a brad through & layer all your strips one on top of the other while gathering them into the pumpkin shape up on top. You will need a strong adhesive to adhere each strip on top of the other. Your pumpkin top will not completely close but don't be alarmed. You can either cover it up like I did or insert a small cellophane baggie with treats & decorate as you wish.

I left the inside blank so I could write my own personal message as I often like to do with thinking of you cards.

I just had to throw in another flower on the back.

*Side Note* I usually mail cards with any kind of dimension &/or flowers in a CD mailing box instead of your traditional envelope. I wrap it in tissue paper, slide it in the box & off it goes.

Just a quick tip this week. If you would like a magnetic surface to place magnets & projects try using a knife strip.
They look like this:

You can find these in the kitchen /home stores, IKEA and of course online.
They have a small footprint and can fit in the tiniest of spaces. If you have a small craft studio or just need another area to hang some important notes, ideas or projects the slim profile on these strips will allow you to place it just about anywhere. A wall, a door, a cabinet and even on the side of desk. Just find yourself some large magnets or make some to use with the knife strips.
Hope this helps anyone out there needing just a little extra space to display their layouts, cards, ideas or notes.

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#107)Including CD's with your Albums

Hello Crafty Friends!

Have you ever wanted to include a CD of extra photos or a song as part of a scrapbook?

I want to share with you a way to do so.
You simply make a sleeve for your CD out of cardstock & adhere it to either a scrapbook page to take a place of prominence or subtly on the inside cover (front or back) of your album. This way it will remain with its subject matter and can be easily accessed.
The key is to use a good heavy weight cardstock and very strong adhesive like Scor Tape or Liquid Scrap Dots.

You want to start off with a square shape. Simply trace a CD case on the paper of your choice with a pencil. Then cut it out. You will then cut a half circle into the square cardstock & apply your adhesive to the other 3 sides. There you have it. A sleeve to slide in your CD's and keep them with your ever important photos, layouts and even cards.

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#106) Punch Card Template Booklet

Today's tip offers up a solution on a couple of levels.
Ever want to see all the punches in your inventory at a glance?
Ever wondered if a punch would work for one of your stamped images?

If so, you are not alone.
How about making yourself an easy way to find out?

Using scraps of paper/cardstock from your stash (preferably solid colors), use each punch in your stash individually to punch out the shape on your scraps. To keep everything uniformed, cut down your scraps of paper used for this project to a manageable size like 3"x4". Make sure you leave room on your punch out on the upper left or right hand corner to punch a hole.(So this booklet will work easily for the left handed or right handed crafter.) You will need it to thread some ribbon or a binding ring through it. By doing this, you will create a little "booklet" of all the punches you have in your inventory. You should label both the punch & the punch-out sheet that coordinates with each punch that way you can easily match them up when you are using this method. It is a great way to cross reference your product.

If you are lucky enough to own a laminating machine, I recommend using it to laminate your individual punched cardstock. This will help keep your booklet in tact. Free from rips, snags, tears, spills, inks, etc...
I used XYRON'S CREATIVE STATION 900 with the laminating cartridge and it worked like a charm.

Now while that alone is a great way to know what punches you have on hand it can also help you when wondering if you could punch out a stamped image with a certain punch.

For instance, say you stamp a damask image that you want to punch out. Just take your handmade punch booklet over to your damask & place the punched out template over your stamped image until you find the punch shape that best will work for your image. Then grab that punch & go for it. You won't have to punch out 7 images before getting it right. You will save time, paper & the stamping of your images over & over.

Now I was going to take pics as usual for this tip but my youngest daughter had other plans. First she insisted I get with the 21st century & try my hand at a video. So I did but was not happy with it. I felt so camera shy & it just was not working for me. Then she said she would just film me in action minus everything but my hands & the crafty stuff. Sounded good so we did that & I thought it was ok. But my director, producer & videographer a.k.a. daughter said no way! Then she had a brilliant idea that I should let her give it a try just for fun- of course. Well, I have to say I liked it! But, I told her that since it was my first video that maybe I should be the one to do it. I will let you see "what video" she ended up downloading.

As you can see, I approved it & the rest is history.I did grant her amnesty & did not ground her. I think she did a great job!
