Tool Time Tuesday-The Lomography Diana F+ MINI Camera w/ Flash

Hey Crafty Bloggers !
Today's tool is the awesome, flashback camera classic from the 60's known as the Lomography Diana F+  MINI with Flash.
Isn't she a beauty?!

The sweet and petite Diana Mini uses 35mm film to give you lovely square shots and half-frame photos.
Now it’s even more exciting with the included Diana F+ Flash which allows you to tint your pictures with a burst of color by just slipping one of the 12 color gel filters in the Diana F+ Flash, and you’re on your way to bursting color splashes here and there! It shoots two formats (square or half-frame) with a flip of a switch.

I spotted this pretty little number on PB Teen online for $99.00. There were many other varieties of colors & options, styles, prints of this terrific camera. I also spotted lots of these on EBAY. Just sharing in case you want to get your hands on one.

I just love the retro feel & how with an old fashioned 35mm camera you will capture not only your photos but the element of surprise because there is no screen to preview your photo. It is spontaneous picture taking at its finest. Total nostalgia...

Crafting Tip of the Week#141 - Need Height or Storage Space @ Your Work Surface?

Hello Bloggers!

Ever want your table surface to be just a bit higher for your crafting comfort?
If so, may I suggest ...BED RISERS.
These can help add 3 inches or more by stacking them as shown below.

If you're a crafter who prefers standing this can be a less expensive solution than purchasing a new work surface.

You can also Instantly create additional storage space under your table surface with these bed risers.  Your table leg or cabinet casters could fit safely and securely into the recess cup built into the riser.
The small risers could lift your table  up 3 inches, the large risers lift 5 inches, and for maximum under table space, you could stack the risers together for 8 inches! The smaller bed risers nest securely over the locking ring on the large riser and will not slide.

Hope you find this tip helpful!

    Tool Time Tuesday-The Scissor Pro

    Hi Crafty Friends!
Today's tool is the SCISSOR PRO.
    It looks like this:
This fabulous tool sharpens your scissors with astute precision. That will help ensure your scissors will work to their fullest capacity for many years to come.

100% diamond abrasives sharpen the blades to an incredible edge time after time, without even disassembling the scissors. Works great for sharpening almost any scissors found in the house, including kitchen, craft, sewing, household, poultry shears, fly-tying scissors and even, knife-edge style scissors. It is easy to operate, a combination of magnets and springs control the sharpening angle and eliminate the guesswork. The machine is easy to clean and maintain. Made of the same quality as the highly regarded Chef's Choice knife sharpeners. No honing oils or water required.

It is a bit pricey @ the average price of $99.99 but it can also be used for your kitchen knives too.
This would definitely be a splurge tool.

That's it for this week's tool.
Hope you tune in for Friday's find.
    Have a great day!

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK #140-Craftcycle ...

    Hello Crafty Bloggers!
Today's tip is all about craftcycling in your craft room.
I know you have probably done this sort of thing before where you open your packages, remove the goodies & think...hey I can use this packaging for something!
Well, specifically today I want to share that concept with something specific.
IF & WHEN YOU bring home craft supplies that are stored in clear plastic or acrylic packaging-
     SAVE IT!
Some examples of types of packaging to look out:
1-Cricut Cartridge Clear Plastic Packaging (old style)
    2-Prima's trinket line packaging
    3-Stamp packaging
    4-Martha Stewart product packaging
    5-Chipboard packaging
Cut it into manageable squares & craftycycle  by using it with your embossing folders & manual die cutters.
You can probably use it in your electronic die cutters too but be sure to size your cuts accordingly.
You can then use your alcohol inks &/or acrylic paints to add even more interest  to this once upon a time to be discarded item.

CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK #139 Roll With It

    With what you ask?
Well, with your Cricut mat or any die cutting mat for that matter.

You know how often times getting your die cut images off your mats can be time consuming, require spatulas & other choice picks to remove them off the mat? I actually tried a different approach which is working well for me.

Basically, you grab your mat from opposite ends once you have unloaded it and begin in a rolling motion to bend & flex the mat. This will help lift off your die cuts and the surrounding card stock.

The rolling motion is caused by you holding the mat at opposite ends and bending the ends in where the center of the mat rolls up. At that point your die cut images should start popping off the mat . Keep rolling the mat until most of your pieces are lifted. You perform the gentle rolling motion until you are satisfied with the release of your images.

This does not necessarily eliminate the need for spatulas altogether but it does help release the images in a gentler fashion.
Just something to consider if you don't have spatulas, pokey tools or the cricut craft kit to lift off your images and you want to give your nails a break.
