CRAFTING TIP OF THE WEEK (#23) SELF HEALING MATS

If you find you need a self healing cutting mat and don't want to spend lots of money on craft specific ones. OR maybe you just don't use it enough to justify the cost of a professional sewing & crafting mat...look no further then your local dollar store.

Try those kitchen cutting/chopping mats that come in 3 packs. I have seen them in the aisle where the kitchen utensils are displayed. They are a good size and can withstand cutting with a craft knife quite well.
For the money you can't beat it.
I used these chopping mats & they worked for everything from cutting on, embossing, glittering & flocking projects. Their flexibility allowed for easy bending to funnel all the extra product into their original containers. They also withstood the heat embossing gun.

Next time you find yourself in a pinch or are having a crafting function & don't want to worry about your crafting surfaces, give these chopping mats a try.
They are practical, inexpensive & functional.
How can you go wrong for a dollar?

Happy Crafting!
